Imagine this: RIT’s Innovation + Creativity Festival

While I was working on my PhD, I was Manager for Special Projects in Rochester Institute of Technology's Office of the President. My primary responsibility was to organize Imagine RIT - an annual innovation and creativity festival.
The festival is now being celebrated in print. Imagine this: RIT’s Innovation + Creativity Festival charts the festival’s first decade with lively stories and captivating imagery.
Bruce Austin, Director of the RIT Press and the book's editor, invited me to author the second chapter. In "More than an event" I provide a behind-the-scenes look at what went into planning the first four festivals and argue the event "enhanced cross-college collaborations, shaped curricular decisions, drew alumni back to campus, facilitated student recruitment, broadened RIT’s brand, and initiated a tradition now extending beyond a decade. Most significantly, Imagine RIT empowered and inspired young people to see themselves as innovators and creators."
The book is available for purchase from the RIT Press.
